SAN FRANCISCO – Sen. Ted W. Lieu, who last October won a landmark victory that made California the first state to end medical practices that attempted to change a minor’s sexual orientation, issued the following statement after today’s oral arguments by a three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals Ninth Circuit.

SACRAMENTO – A measure to crack down on those who falsely report emergencies by imposing increased restitution passed its initial policy hearing by the Senate Public Safety Committee today and will next face a fiscal review.

SACRAMENTO – A measure to crack down on those who falsely report emergencies, including at homes of entertainers, celebrities and public officials, by imposing increased restitution undergoes its first policy hearing tomorrow, Tuesday, April 9, 2013.

Senate Bill 333 by Sen. Ted W. Lieu of Torrance is scheduled to be heard by the Senate Public Safety Committee, which meets at 9:30 a.m. in Room 3191.

Lieu to attend Genesis Awards Saturday night

BEVERLY HILLS – The Humane Society of the United States, the nation's largest animal protection organization, tomorrow will roll out the red carpet for those who have showcased animal issues last year, including Sen. Ted W. Lieu of Torrance.

The event is part of the group’s Genesis Awards and will be held Saturday evening at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills.
