A widespread power outage in the South Bay over the weekend prompted renewed calls Monday for Southern California Edison to improve its reliability.
“Yesterday’s outage was really the tipping point,” said state Sen. Ted Lieu, D-Torrance. “Five years ago Edison had committed to fixing the power outage problem. We realized it was not going to happen overnight, that it would take several years to fix, but five years is more than enough.”
