Greetings Neighbor,
I hope that you, your family and friends are safe and well. My heart goes out to all of our community members who were impacted by the devastating fires and windstorm over the past few days.
I want to take this opportunity to extend my deep appreciation for the brave firefighters, first responders, emergency management teams, and elected officials who worked around the clock to protect our residents.
Listed below are helpful resources should you need assistance. Also, feel free to reach our district office at (213) 745-6656 or visit our website to email us directly about additional questions or support.

Tips to Stay Safe
- During periods of fire and windstorm, limit outdoor activity and wear masks if outdoors.
- Check current air quality to determine safe air levels.
- Report road blockages from trees, power lines and other debris by calling 3-1-1.
- Report incidents of price gouging during an emergency.
- Check on vulnerable friends and neighbors to make sure they’re safe.
For Power Outages, LADWP Recommends:
- Never touch a downed power line! If you see a downed wire, call 911.
- Keep a flashlight and extra batteries nearby. Never use candles in a power outage or other emergency.
- Keep a fully charged cell phone on hand. Extra portable cell phone batteries are very helpful in the event of an outage.
- Report outages by calling 1-800-DIAL-DWP
LAUSD Schools Closed Jan. 10
All Los Angeles Unified schools and offices will be closed Friday, January 10. The confluence of factors – wind, fire, and smoke – have created unpredictable, complex situations that present potentially unsafe conditions for our school communities.

- YMCA of Metro Los Angeles: The YMCA is open on January 9 and 10 to provide free childcare for all TK-8th grade students at the following YMCA centers: Culver City, DTLA, North Hollywood, Northridge, Reseda, San Fernando Valley, Van Nuys, and Westchester.
